This level sensor was specifically designed for shipboard use and designed to last the life of the tankship or tankbarge. It is constructed of 316 stainless steel and teflon and mates to a standard 4" butterworth flange. It is waterproof and yet can be replaced by the tankerman in less than a minute without venting to atmosphere. It is intrinsically safe for Class I, Division I, Group C and D atmospheres and has no moving parts. The self-test feature meets the requirements for closed tank gauging overfill requirements and is also self-cleaning. It works in products from NAPTA to Bunker C. It comes complete with intrinsically safe barriers and an on-deck weatherproof LCD display, which names the tank in alarm with a 24 character message "NO. 1 PORT OVERFILL."
